چکیده

We study the linear Arrow-Debreu’s model and derive a fix point method to find the market equilibrium. The convergence of this method is proved, while the speed is unknown. Besides that, properties about utility distribution and the partition of buyers are also studied. I. PROBLEM DEFINITION The problems of market equilibrium were initially studied in the domain of mathematical economics. We study Arrow-Debreu’s model [1] and Fisher’s Model [2].

An Auction-Based Market Equilibrium Algorithm for a Production Model

We present an auction-based algorithm for computing market equilibrium prices in a production model, in which producers have a single linear production constraint, and consumers have linear utility functions. We provide algorithms for both the Fisher and Arrow-Debreu versions of the problem.

Continuity Properties of Equilibria in Some Fisher and Arrow-Debreu Market Models

Following up on the work of Megiddo and Vazirani [10], who determined continuity properties of equilibrium prices and allocations for perhaps the simplest market model, Fisher’s linear case, we do the same for: – Fisher’s model with piecewise-linear, concave utilities – Fisher’s model with spending constraint utilities – Arrow-Debreu’s model with linear utilities – Eisenberg-Gale markets.

Spending Is Not Easier Than Trading: On the Computational Equivalence of Fisher and Arrow-Debreu Equilibria

It is a common belief that computing a market equilibrium in Fisher’s spending model is easier than computing a market equilibrium in Arrow-Debreu’s exchange model. This belief is built on the fact that we have more algorithmic success in Fisher equilibria than ArrowDebreu equilibria. For example, a Fisher equilibrium in a Leontief market can be found in polynomial time, while it is PPAD-hard t...

Exchange Market Equilibria with Leontief's Utility: Freedom of Pricing Leads to Rationality

This paper studies the equilibrium property and algorithmic complexity of the exchange market equilibrium problem with more general utility functions: piece-wise linear functions, which include Leontief’s utility functions. We show that the Fisher model again reduces to the general analytic center problem, and the same linear programming complexity bound applies to approximating its equilibrium...

A Simple Approximation Algorithm for Computing Arrow-Debreu Prices

We consider the Arrow-Debreu market with linear utilities in which there is a set G of divisible goods and a set B of buyers. Each buyer starts with an initial endowment of goods. The buyer’s utility function is a linearly separable function of the goods that the buyer purchases. We develop a simple and efficient algorithm for determining an approximate market equilibrium. Our algorithm finds a...
